Designers Birta Rós Brynjólfsdóttir and Hrefna Sigurðardóttir founded Studio Flétta in 2017. With backgrounds in product design from the Iceland Academy of the Arts, they bring a high degree of conceptual and process innovation to their works using mundane or often overlooked products and materials.
Their practice revolves around responsible design, utilizing reused materials and local production with an evident respect for craftsmanship and storytelling.
This level of commitment has been extended with Minute, a line of candlestick holders where each piece is shaped by hand from the slab of clay in only one minute, to ensure a local production resulting in an affordable product.
Featured Artist: Marta Bonilla
Marta Bonilla designs and creates her pieces in Barcelona, where her workshop is located. She started with ceramics a few years ago, and was totally hooked on the material and the freedom that it allowed when working and designing.
The pieces that she makes are handmade, with the modeling technique. Her motivation when working is that the object does not lose its naturalness and we see the traces of the creation process. That the object is beautiful in itself, it is another of her objectives, she is fascinated that while the object does not perform its main function the object becomes a decoration piece.

Volta offers a unique collection of contemporary interior design objects, home and personal accessories, furniture and lighting from small emerging and established design brands. (No, it’s not another Skandi- store!)
Created 2012, the store started as a side project of graphic designer Nela Wedam-Liegler and lead to the launch of a web store that ships internationally.
The store was ranked among the top 5 design stores for design lovers in Vienna by Forbes Magazine in 2017 and is known for its eclectic approach to contemporary (interior) design.

Homework is a lifestyle store inspired by traditional Chinese medicine and the healing power of nature and produces its own line of natural skincare and toxin-free home fragrances.
All of the products are handmade in small batches in the East London workshop. Made using only natural or toxin free ingredients and minimally packaged in eco-friendly materials. The packaging is recyclable and biodegradable.
The candles are hand poured into steel tins manufactured in London using solar power and which can be infinitely recycled.
