Provider Store – Earth Matsu Candle in Japanese Tea Cup – Hikari or Komorebi scent
About Provider Store:
“Since 2014 we have been creating and acquiring pieces for the home, chosen with the purpose to be both artful and functional. Our aim is to slow down and focus on what’s important, championing sustainably sourced and slow-made products. Whether handmade by us in our studio or by like-minded creatives, each finely curated piece tells a story inspired by travel, art and connection.
Founder Tara Bennett created Provider Store to bring to life the friendships and bonds made through her international adventures – celebrating not only the individual items, but the stories of the makers and the journey to bring them to life. Our shop and studio is nestled in Sydney’s Surry Hills, where you can browse our hand-picked wares for yourself or join us for a chat.
If you’ve ever visited Japan you’ll understand the fascination. During her first trip to the country six years ago Tara was immediately inspired by its incredible heritage and respect for resource preservation – Japan’s appreciation for sustainable practices is visible everywhere. Following the visit, Tara quit her job in e-commerce and committed herself to educating people on ethical manufacturing, sustainability and smart purchasing.
Provider Store is actively anti-consumerist; we seek out like-minded local artisans on our travels and bring their unique handmade ceramics, linens and homewares back to our customers. We choose them because they’re the best at what they do, and regularly journey back to visit our makers – both local craftspeople and ceramic workshops – to select and design new pieces.”
