Saikai – Mutenka Sekken – Rice Bran Soap

Additive-free soap, meticulously crafted by slow-cooking it in a traditional Japanese kiln for three days. The soap is then divided into several stages for natural drying and aging, allowing it to mature for up to 180 days. Featuring organic rice bran, which is rich in gamma oryzanol – a skin-benefiting compound that helps suppress the activity of enzymes.

Since its founding in Kobe in 1955, Mutenka Sekken has continued to handcraft additive-free soaps using the traditional kettle-fired method and cold process technique – practices that have remained unchanged over the decades. Not only are natural ingredients used, but great attention is also paid to incorporating beneficial elements such as vitamins, ensuring a texture that softens the rugged impression of iron, creating a warm and approachable aesthetic that fits seamlessly into everyday life.
