Donabe pot specialised for steaming dishes, featuring a ceramic inner tray. The infrared effects of Iga clay and powerful steam quickly steam the ingredients, preserving their flavours and nutrients. When the tray is removed, it can also be used for regular pot cooking or simmering dishes. For open fire cooking only.
Founded in 1832, Nagatani-en is located in the deep mountains of Iga in Mie, where it uses local raw clay to continue the tradition and craftsmanship of Iga pottery. With a spirit of exploration, the pottery creates practical tools for modern life, having produced a variety of earthenware pots and traditional folk tools over the years.
